Highly complicated watches

Audemars Piguet redefines traditional watchmaking with timepieces that combine technical innovation and timeless design. From the intricate Grande Complication to the unparallelled acoustic clarity of the Supersonnerie and the multifunctional Universelle, each creation showcases our commitment to excellence in Haute Horlogerie.

Our Ultra-Complication Universelle (RD#4)

Born from seven years of dedicated research and the collaboration of exceptional talents across disciplines, the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Universelle is a tribute to the legacy of the Grande Complication.

Powered by the Manufacture's groundbreaking Calibre 1000, this exceptional timepieces comprises 1140 components and has over 40 functions - including a Grande Sonnerie, Supersonnerie, minute repeater, tourbillon, flyback chronograph, split-seconds chronograph, astronomical moon, moon phase and large date.

Our Grande Sonnerie

In addition to striking the hours, quarter hours and minutes on demand, as a traditional minute repeater would, a Grande Sonnerie automatically chimes the hour and each quarter hour, echoing the rhythm of a bell tower.

Regarded as one of the most intricate and prestigious complications in Haute Horlogerie, the Grande Sonnerie remains rare. At Audemars Piguet, only a handful of specialised watchmakers possess the expertise to assemble and fine-tune this extraordinary mechanism.

Grande Sonnerie Technology

In Calibre 1000, the gongs are affixed to a 0.6 mm sapphire crystal membrane that acts as a soundboard, enhancing acoustic performance. Meanwhile, the caseback features an extra-thin 'secret' cover with apertures on the side to let air flow through, amplifying the sound even when the watch is worn on the wrist.

OUR BESPOKE WATCHES

Since 1875, AP has dedicated itself to crafting complicated watches, meticulously finished and assembled by hand.

Our bespoke watches feature custom decoration and finishes, from personalised dials and gemsetting to strap selection, elevating each piece into a true work of art.

Our Grande Complication

To be considered a Grande Complication, a watch must include a minute repeater, a split-seconds chronograph and a perpetual calendar.

Since 1882, Audemars Piguet has upheld the Grande Complication as a symbol of its horological mastery - preserving this ancestral savoir-faire through generations and maintaining its production even during times of crisis.
