Climate change
Our craft is rooted in a close relationship with the natural environment. Preserving it for future generations remains an important commitment.
Today, climate change is globally affecting the world on which our craft and value chain rely. Rising temperatures, extreme weather events and increasing pressure on natural resources are reshaping this context.
Beyond adapting to climate change, we focus on understanding our footprint, reducing it and addressing the impacts we cannot avoid.
UNDERSTANDING OUR FOOTPRINT
Our climate impact spans our entire value chain, from raw material extraction to retail, including after-sales services. Following the GHG Protocol, our emissions are divided into three categories (Scopes 1*, 2** and 3***).
Thanks to strategic investments initiated over 20 years ago, our direct emissions (Scopes 1* and 2**) are now limited. 98% of our footprint comes from Scope 3*** emissions. These are mainly linked to upstream activities such as the extraction and processing of raw materials.
REDUCING OUR FOOTPRINT
We joined the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), aligning our climate targets with the Paris Agreement. Validated in 2025, our decarbonisation commitments for 2030 are:
• A 42% absolute reduction in Scope 1* and Scope 2** emissions;
• A 25% absolute reduction in mobility-related Scope 3*** emissions;
• A commitment that our suppliers will have their own science‑based targets by 2030.
For Scope 1* and 2**, we focus on energy efficiency across our operations, the use of 100% renewable electricity and heat, and the progressive electrification of our fleet.
For Scope 3***, we focus on our most material sources of emissions. This includes employee commuting, business travel and supplier engagement. Supplier engagement plays a central role in reducing emissions across our value chain.
* Direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by a company.
** Indirect emissions from purchased electricity, steam, heating, or cooling used by the company.
*** Result of activities from assets not owned or controlled by the organisation, but that the organisation indirectly affects in its value chain.
RESTORE WHAT COULD NOT BE AVOIDED
To complement our reduction efforts, we support initiatives through the Audemars Piguet Foundation for Trees that contribute to the preservation and restoration of natural ecosystems. Established in 1992, it is dedicated to forest conservation, restoration and environmental awareness worldwide.
Back to Sustainabilty at Audemars Piguet
Always looking to the future, we will continue to ensure the long-term preservation of our shared skills, heritage, values and purpose, while nurturing our communities towards a sustainable future.
