Sustainability at Audemars Piguet
WHERE IT BEGAN, WHERE WE STAND, WHERE WE ARE HEADING
In 1875, Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet laid the foundations of Audemars Piguet with a clear ambition: to create high-quality mechanical watches made to last for generations. Rooted in Le Brassus for over 150 years, our company has been shaped by the dialogue between people, nature and time.
By prioritising durability over rapid growth, our founders placed partners, clients and communities at the centre of their approach, while respecting the land that made their craft possible. This philosophy continues to guide us. Our measure of success lies in the long-term value we create for people, society and the industry as a whole.
As an independent, family-owned manufactory, we have the freedom and the duty to look beyond short-term horizons. We embrace this opportunity and aim to contribute to positive change, while encouraging more responsibility and sustainability in watchmaking.
HOW WE ACT
Our sustainability approach is grounded in a clear understanding of our value chain. This enables us to identify the issues that matter most for our environmental and social footprint.
Our 3/6 Sustainability Framework is structured around three pillars: Environment, People and Communities, and Governance. Within these pillars, we focus on six priority areas: climate change, raw materials, our people, watchmaking savoir-faire, our communities and business ethics.
ENVIRONMENT
Identify, prevent and mitigate our impact
From our origins, we have been closely linked to the natural world. Drawing inspiration from its rhythms, we have long crafted timepieces that reflect the landscape around us. Today, we build on this legacy by strengthening our commitment to environmental stewardship. Protecting our planet is integral to our craft; it supports the preservation of our savoir-faire and the global value chain on which it depends.

Enrich and transmit a living heritage for our people and our communities.
We trace our roots to the local network of artisans – known as établissage – that flourished in the Vallée de Joux in the 19th century. This organisational system brought together highly-specialised independent craftspeople, who collectively shaped each timepiece with precision and care.
This tradition of shared expertise and mutual respect continues to define our identity today. We aim to create an environment where our people can thrive, preserving, enriching and transmitting our craft for future generations. We support shared prosperity across our value chain and the communities we are part of.
