Behind the Beats’ first episode, “Authenticity”, traces rapper and singer-songwriter Majin’s development as an artist. Each chapter of her life echoes through her music, with her latest track as a mirror of her personal journey.
Her move from Taiwan to Indonesia at the age of 11 immersed her in a vibrant and diverse music scene that has shaped her sound. "The energy in Indonesia’s music was so fresh and alive—it pulled me in," she recalls.
When I was 16, I moved to Germany by myself. I had this whole identity crisis as a mixed kid. Music was like a good friend or a family member that helped me through the hardest times. I started writing about my own experiences, about being mixed, and treating my music like a personal diary.

After relocating to Germany at 16, music became her refuge during cultural challenges. "Music became my confidant, helping me through some of the toughest times," she reflects. Over time, her music turned into a diary, capturing the layers of her experiences.
Her latest track, “Delicious”, in collaboration with Delf, combines tropical rhythms with personal storytelling about her struggles with her Taiwanese-German heritage growing up. Through this collaborative journey, Majin has created a narrative that resonates deeply with listeners while celebrating her unique journey to creative freedom.
