This 41 mm Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon brings together stainless steel with a smoked burgundy dial for a striking contrast.

THE TOURBILLON

The tourbillon compensates for the effect of gravity on a pocket watch held in the vertical position. The operating principle: the elements that distribute the energy (escapement wheel and anchor) as well as the regulating system (balance wheel and the ‘Breguet curb’ balance spring) are united inside a rotating cage that turns around its axis at a rate of one revolution per minute. By its rotation, this cage makes it possible to offset the running differences caused by the effects of gravitation.
