ENVIRONMENT

Identify, prevent, and mitigate our impact

For 150 years, Audemars Piguet has been shaped by the land and the people of Le Brassus, a small village nestled in the Vallée de Joux. This remote valley in the Swiss Jura provided not only the natural resources—iron ore, running water and wood—but also the skilled craftsmen who mastered metalwork. Our founders drew on this environment and the expertise of local artisans to uphold and evolve the art of fine watchmaking, choosing to perpetuate their traditional know-how despite the temptation to follow easier paths.

Watchmakers worked in harmony with nature, inspired by its rhythms to create timepieces that capture not just hours and minutes, but the very cycles of the world around them. Today, as we deepen our commitment to sustainability, we are not forging a new path—we are honouring the one that has always guided us, ensuring it endures for generations to come.

Deeply rooted in its birthplace, Audemars Piguet has always nurtured the community and region that shaped its journey. With our établisseur heritage, we carry a deep sense of legacy, one that extends beyond watchmaking to the land we inhabit and the people it touches. Preserving this environment and passing it on to the next generations remains a fundamental commitment.

To support the industry’s climate efforts, we joined the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) in 2024, aligning our goalswith the Paris Agreement for submission in 2025. With 2022 as our baseline, we aim to reduce our emissions by 42% across Scope 1* and 2**, and by 25% for the most relevant Scope 3*** emissions by 2030. We are implementing concrete measures to achieve these objectives, including a comprehensive employee commuting plan, and a waste reduction programme. Currently, all our Swiss sites are powered by 100% renewable heat and electricity.

* Direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by a company.

** Indirect emissions from purchased electricity, steam, heating, or cooling used by the company.

*** Result of activities from assets not owned or controlled by the organisation, but that the organisation indirectly affects in its value chain.

Our commitment to resource responsibility extends across our supply chain, focusing on ethical sourcing. In 2025, we aim to achieve complete transparency for all our direct purchases, with over 95% of these coming from local suppliers for the direct procurement of watch components. Our Raw Materials Guidelines, established in 2023, align our sourcing practices with leading international standards and support supplier alignment through the Swiss Triple Impact (STI) programme, which helps companies measure and enhance their sustainability performance.

Since 2022, more than 70 of our direct suppliers have joined the STI programme. Involving our supply chain partners is crucial for environmental sustainability, particularly concerning Scope 3 emissions.
