Audemars Piguet QEII Cup 2013 Gala Party

April 26, 2013, HONG KONG – An annual highlight on the international racing calendar, the Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Cup 2013 is scheduled to be held on April 28.


The world renowned Swiss watch manufacturer Audemars Piguet teams up with The Hong Kong Jockey Club to present the Audemars Piguet QEII Cup Gala Party tonight at the Happy Valley Racecourse to herald the race on Sunday. Horse owners, jockeys, trainers, socialites as well as distinguished guests were invited to attend this glamorous and remarkable occasion.

At the Parade Ring of the Happy Valley Racecourse, a giant marquee was set up for guests to party under the gorgeous Happy Valley Racecourse skyline. A gravity performance kicked start the evening in which dancers performed in darkness to interpret the precision of watchmaking craftsmanship and the dynamic of horse racing, an innovative approach to highlight the theme of the event. Mr Brian Stevenson, Chairman of The Hong Kong Jockey Club then delivered a speech to welcome all guests. He also wished the Audemars Piguet QEII Cup a huge success. Mr Oliviero Bottinelli, Managing Director of Audemars Piguet Asia, who especially flew in from Singapore, also extended his gratitude to the guests. He was excited about the 15 years of successive cooperation between Audemars Piguet and The Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Audemars Piguet also invited the guest of honour, Ms Cherie Chung, to make special appearance at the party. Wearing the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding watch priced at HK$615,000, Cherie stole the limelight of the event. She made a toast together with Mr Brian Stevenson, Chairman of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, Chief Executive Officer of The Hong Kong Jockey Club and Mr. Oliviero Bottinelli, Managing Director of Audemars Piguet Asia, to wish the horse racing event a triumph. Tess Collins, the young and talented jazz vocalist and her band sprinkled a tint of relaxation to the party with her music. The evening was brought to a climax by the impressive performance of Kit Chan, renowned Singaporean singer, who enchanted the guests with some of her memorable songs and won warm applause from the audience. Jocelyn Luko and Anthony Sandstrom together with two female models were present to demonstrate Audemars Piguet's elegant timepieces.

Celebrity guests attending the party included Monica Chen, Olivia Lee Davies, Cara G & Jesper M, Matthew & Lianne Lam, Carmen & Tenniel Chu, Andy Wong, Vinci Wong, Kam Kwong Leung, Enrico Kwong, Albert Wong, Edwin Ing, Ricky Kwok, Juju Chan, Alvin Goh, Mr & Mrs Simon Kwok Siu Ming, Vinny Chu, Tony & Pauline Cruz, Mr & Mrs Jimmy Tang and more. They immersed themselves in a wonderful night of exquisite timepieces and mesmerizing music, and all looked forward to the glittering occasion of the Audemars Piguet QEII Cup on Sunday.
