Over the years we’ve developed friendships with some of the world’s best golfers. This veritable Dream Team of golf Ambassadors are exceptional and passionate players with a proven record of fully mastering their discipline and working tirelessly to constantly push their limits.
Since his early days on the professional tour in 1999, this man of good taste and pinpoint precision – who probably has the world’s most effective iron play – has racked up an impressive list of achievements. The ever-elegant Swede with nerves of steel – nicknamed ‘Iceman’ on the greens - wears a steel Royal Oak Offshore chronograph since 2014.
Danny symbolizes the revival of British golf. Since winning his first tournament on the European Tour in 2012 at the BMW International Open he has upped his game and refined his style by combining controlled power and great technique. This elegant young man demonstrated the whole array of his talents when winning the South African Nedbank Golf Challenge in December 2014, which opened the doors to the Top 50 World Ranking for him. He then reached third place at the WGC Matchplay in San Francisco in April 2015.
Byeong Hun An
Byeong Hun An was named “Rookie of the Year” on the European Tour in 2015, a milestone year. Born in Seoul in 1991, he moved to Florida at 14 to perfect his unique powerful style and became the youngest winner of the US Amateur Championship at 17. His career break-through victory came at the BMW PGA Championship in May 2015 where “Ben” made a huge impression on observers. With his engaging smile, the South Korean has continued his rise since, with six Top 10 finishes in his last seven tournaments.
He has been a professional for more than 20 years and this Northern Irishman has won dozens of tournaments throughout his career including four Ryder Cups with the European team.
The term “unique” may well have been invented to describe Ian Poulter. Known for wearing outfits that are both unorthodox and exceptionally elegant, this regular in the world Top 25 and the Ryder Cup European Team, makes a consistently strong impression on all who see him.
If a player ever personified the ideal profile of a modern golfer, it would probably be Bernd Wiesberger.
In 2014, he became the first Austrian golfer to take part in the US Open. Since then Bernd has moved in to the Top 50 in the world rankings, making several appearances on the podium of the European Tour.
A watchmaking enthusiast from a very early age, Bernd wears a stainless steel Royal Oak chronograph since 2015, a wise choice for this talented and fun-loving man with a more than promising future.
Certain golfers will mark history.
Lee Westwood is amongst them. Consistently excellent, this Englishman has been victorious on every continent on the globe, building his exceptional career step by step. Faithful leader of the Ryder Cup European team, Lee Westwood was elected Player of the Year in 1998, 2000, 2009 and enjoyed the ultimate honour of becoming No 1 in the world at the end of 2010.
He has been an Ambassador since 2005 and wears a chronograph that reflects his powerful and competitive nature.
This Frenchman born in 1990 is undoubtedly one of the most talented players of his generation. In 2013, his memorable swing enabled him to win the Turkish Open, an event with one of the biggest purses on the European tour, ahead of two other Audemars Piguet ambassadors, Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson.
In his first season on the PGA Tour he won twice, including the 2011 PGA Championship, marking just the third time in the history of the game that a player won a major championship in his first attempt. The next year he cemented his place among the world’s leading players by winning the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and being a valued member of the U.S. Ryder Cup side.
Miguel Angel Jiménez
Miguel Angel Jiménez is an iconic figure in golf circles, one of the most charismatic players on the fairways. His record speaks for itself – 18 victories on the European Tour, two Alfred Dunhill Cups, two Ryder Cups and a place in the Top 100 in the European Order of Merit year after year since 1989!
Emiliano Grillo has that touch of style that only Argentinians possess and is unquestionably part of the future of international golf. One could sense his burgeoning potential since his first swings of the club at the age of five. Emiliano had just joined the elite of the PGA Tour in October 2015 when he made a name for himself. His incredible drive and competitor’s mentality enabled this young man to win his very first tournament at the Frys.com Open in California.
Renato Paratore‘s golfing talent appears boundless, without the slightest exaggeration. In 2014 as a 17 year old, he enjoyed a stunning string of successes, winning five events as an amateur, including the gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games in China. He then claimed his first professional title at his native Italian National Championship and joined the European Tour at the end of that year. In July 2015, the scored a four on every single one of the 18 holes at the Open de France.
In 2012, this young American turned pro and bravely set off on the European Tour.
This atypical choice proved extremely judicious and the newcomer quickly revealed his talent in 2013, winning his first professional title before finishing 14th in the Race to Dubai. He subsequently earned the prestigious “Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year” award, becoming the first American to do so and joining fellow Audemars Piguet ambassadors Sir Nick Faldo (1977) and Ian Poulter (2000) on the list of winners.
Audemars Piguet organises its own series of private tournaments at prestigious golf courses around the world. Cherished guests enjoy the entertainment and thrill of playing alongside one of the brand Ambassadors at the numerous Audemars Piguet Golf Trophies every year.
Since 2013, the series climaxes in the Audemars Piguet Golf Invitational which gathers most of the Dream Team of golf Ambassadors and provides a unique experience.
Seven of the brand’s exceptional golf ambassadors were in attendance, with 2014 FedexCup winner Billy Horschel as special guest.
The Els Club in Dubai was the place of the Invitational in November 2014 as the European Tour players concluded their season.
