Welcome to the user manual for the Royal Oak - Caliber 7138. This User Guide will walk you through the steps to setup and maintain your Audemars Piguet.

1. Hour Hand

Indicates the current hour.

2. Minute Hand

Shows the current minutes.

3. Day Indicator

Displays the day of the week.

4. 24H display

Differentiates between AM and PM.

5. Date Indicator

Shows the current date.

6. Week Indicator

Tracks the week number.

7. Month Indicator

Displays the current month.

8. Perpetual calendar non-correction zone indicator

Marks periods when manual adjustments shouldn't be made.

9. Year indicator

Shows the current year within the leap year cycle.

10. Moon phase indicator

Depicts the current phase of the moon.

11. Crown position indicator

Displayed are all possible positions of the crown.

Winding

Before starting, make sure your watch is wound. To wind your watch, remain in position A and rotate the crown clockwise approximately 35 times.

To ensure the following information is accurate, please indicate here the time that your watch is currently set at.

Calendar correction (Under 3 days)

If the watch stopped for over 3 days, skip to the next step. If your watch has been stopped for less than 72 hours, pull the crown out to position C and set the date and time by turning the crown clockwise, then push it back to position A.

If your watch has been stopped for more than 72 hours, start here.

Check non-correction zone

Before setting the date, ensure the 24-hour indicator is not in the red zone (9 p.m. to 3 a.m.). If it is, proceed to the next step. Otherwise, continue to the step for setting the year and month.

Exit the red zone

Pull the crown to position C and turn it clockwise to set the date and time until the indicator moves out of the red zone, around noon (12 p.m.) is safest.

Exit the red zone

Once out of the red zone, push the crown back in to position A. The correct perpetual calendar setup will follow in the next steps.

Set the date

To set the date, pull the crown out to position B and turn the crown clockwise. It may take several turns of the crown before the correction is visible.

Setting the year and month

To set the year and month, pull the crown to position B and turn the crown counter clockwise. It may take several turns of the crown before the correction is visible.

Set the time

To correct the time and the 24-hour indication, pull out the crown to position C. The date can be adjusted in both directions.

Set the week and day

To set the week, push the crown to position B’ and turn it clockwise. First, set the week number, then the day. The week number updates after Sunday to Monday and may require multiple adjustments.

Setting the moon phase

To set the moon phase, stay in position B’, turn the crown counterclockwise to a full moon, then count days since the last full moon. Rotate counterclockwise, making the moon jump for each day. Multiple turns may be needed.

Push the crown in

In order to prevent any ingress of dust or moisture, push the crown inwards.
