The boutique, situated in the ifc mall, is designed to bring the essence of the brand’s origin, Le Brassus in the Vallée de Joux, to the heart of Hong Kong. Taking inspirations from science, nature and technology, natural elements and raw materials are incorporated into the interior design. As the brand’s first self-owned boutique in Hong Kong, it offers a unique selection of the latest collections with the highlight of a few historical pieces to showcase the savoir-faire of Audemars Piguet.
LeBron James, a keen devotee of Haute Horology, showed particular interest in the complicated pieces such as the Royal Oak Concept GMT Tourbillon and the Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph. “I’m thrilled to visit the newly opened Hong Kong boutique and try on several 2014 novelties for the first time. The new retail concept is very impressive too, it almost feels like I am back in Switzerland.”
Guests enjoyed a private evening spent with LeBron James who took time to sign on basketballs and photographs for all fans attending. David von Gunten, Audemars Piguet Hong Kong and China CEO, took the opportunity to present LeBron with a customised stamp in precious stone that is engraved with his Chinese name and carved with a dragon on top to symbolize “King James”.
Following the boutique opening the “Go Offshore” exhibition will be held at the Oval Atrium of the ifc mall from 24 to 30 September. Historical pieces along with six new 2014 models from the Royal Oak Offshore 42mm Chronograph collection will be showcased at the specially curated area. A Grand Boutique Opening ceremony will be followed on 25 September.
