The tournament became an official leg for both the Taiwan Ladies Professional Golf Association and the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Tour in 2012 and featured a total of 91 players including world number 1 and local hero Yani Tseng and eventual winner world number 2 Na-Yeon Choi of South Korea. Audemars Piguet Ambassadors Cristie Kerr (world number 11) and Morgan Pressel (world number 38) also brought their elegance, skills and strength to the competition.
Prior to the start of the tournament, on Sunday December 2, Audemars Piguet invited a group of Taiwanese VIP guests to meet Ambassador Cristie Kerr and share a round of golf at the Miramar Golf & Country Club in Linkou, New Taipei. Audemars Piguet Taiwan’s CEO Richard Weng commented “We organized this exclusive golf event with the special participation of Cristie for the devotees of our brand. Each of our guests had the chance to take photos with Cristie and appreciate her skilful swing at very close range. In addition, we ran a friendly “Closest to the Pin” competition to determine who had the best shot on an180 yards par 3”.
Cristie Kerr elegantly wore a Ladies’ Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 26267FS on the course. During the tournament she donated 50 US dollars for each birdie that she achieved, as she does all year round via the “Birdies for Breast Cancer” foundation that she created and for which she has raised nearly 650’000 USD to date.
